Panelists Bios

Emily Lirag, '05

Over the past 10 years, Emily has worked at some of the top creative agencies in NYC helping to provide digital solutions to brands like: Verizon Wireless, Citigroup and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. Accomplishments include the Verizon Wireless Destination Store opening in November 2013 and the launch of the "Inspire Her Mind" campaign in 2014, which was featured on the Today Show and Good Morning America. After working as an agency partner, she was brought in house at Citigroup on the ThankYou Rewards marketing team. 

Emily is now leveraging her digital expertise at Morgan Stanley as a digital consultant for their Wealth Management group and is a co-chair of the firm’s American Heart Association Go Red campaign. 

Outside of work, Emily serves on the Alumnae Association Board and Marketing Committee at Dominican Academy. She can often be found taking photos of her food and posting to her Instagram @Emily_Lirag.

Grace Lozito, '66

Grace (D.A., '66): Spent the first 20 years of her career in magazine publishing and marketing, and the following 19 years working as a public interest lawyer.

Grace currently holds a position as an administrator at the Fordham University School of Law in the University’s Law Clinic.

Pulling from her extensive experience in two very separate industries, Grace is now able to combine her skills in her current role. She is responsible for creating various forms of media including web pages, promotional emails, print, and even social media. Grace also advises and trains clinical law students on cases, procedures, and practice-oriented legal technology.

Living up to the true definition of a D.A. Graduate, she strongly believes that women who graduate D.A. can do anything they choose.

Erica Sherman, '04

Erica, '04, holds a Dual Degree in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. She went on to earn a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Erica's studies focused on experimental fluid mechanics. Her background in experimental design and analysis led to her position as a Senior Research Associate within the Division of Research and Development at GAF, a residential and commercial roofing manufacturer.

At GAF, Erica develops new products and technology for North America’s largest roofing manufacturing. Erica's love of hands-on problem solving originated right here at D.A. in Mr. Rosada's physics class, and has led her to many wonderful opportunities and learning experiences.

Vanessa Power Preston, '02

Vanessa, '02, is a Vice President with Grant Associates, a national workforce development firm headquartered in New York. Ms. Preston currently oversees the HRA Career Advance and Career Compass contracts and leads standardization of national practices. She joined Grant Associates in 2009 as part of the Workforce1 Industrial and Transportation Center’s Career Services department. Ms. Preston launched and led Grant’s Washington, D.C. operations from 2012 to 2014 and started the Houston Texas Gulf Coast Employer Services contract from 2017 to 2018. Previously, she held training and development positions in a national restaurant chain. She holds a bachelor's degree in history from Queens College and is a proud D.A. girl.
