Dominican Academy held its 2026 Spring Auction & Benefit on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the iconic 230 Fifth Ave. Rooftop, one of NYC’s most renowned event venues. It was an unforgettable evening, bringing together our alumnae, parents, D.A. faculty and staff, and benefactors who make our community such an extraordinary place.

This year, we were thrilled to honor Erica Sharkey Allegretta and Meredith Hill Chartier, both members of the Class of 1999, who spoke about the incredible sisterhood their class still shares.  Erica and Meredith beautifully embody D.A.’s Four Pillars.  Through their careers and lives, they reflect a deep commitment to service, leadership, and the mission of Dominican Academy.

Our auction was led by Paul Florez-Taylor, who rallied attendees to bid on luxurious vacations, golf outings, and exclusive events at D.A.’s rooftop. We were also joined by an exuberant group of current student ambassadors who came up with their own cheer to rally attendees and showcase their incredible enthusiasm for D.A. We will miss our graduating seniors who have joined us year after year at the Benefit.

We are delighted to share that, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community, we exceeded all expectations and raised more than $300,000 in support of our students. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our alumnae, families, faculty, staff, and friends, and we look forward to celebrating together again next year!

On Friday, January 30, 2026, D.A. welcomed back more than 20 alumnae spanning over 30 years for Career Day. The junior class heard personal stories about the alumnae’s experiences at D.A., in college, and in careers ranging from chemistry and television production to entrepreneurship, immigration law, and corrections.  After panel discussions, small small breakout groups were held and students connected with alumnae working in entertainment, finance, human resources, marketing, and medicine.

Erica Allegretta, ‘99 spoke about the D.A. Sisterhood and bonds she still has with her classmates:  “You don’t know when you will need each other in the future. It starts young. I feel it’s the best group of women I know. I’m so proud to have come to this school and to have become who I am here, and I hope you guys can build these relationships as well.” 

Elizabeth Fay, ‘17 spoke about the strength in being an entrepreneur: “Surround yourself with people who matter. Being a CEO, being a founder is hard. Genuinely choose your friends, choose your life partner, it matters. You’ve got so much in front of you. Choose your friends, choose your family like your life depends on it. Don’t surround yourself with people who don’t support you.”

Sarah Tantaway, ’17 gave the students advice about facing tough moments in their career paths: “Any job you have is going to be hard. It doesn't matter what the job is, you might as well like the job you have.  Be confident in who you are as people, know that you belong in every single room you walk into and hold that confidence starting now.” 

We are grateful to have so many alumnae who have walked amazing journeys and are willing to share their time and expertise with our current students. You are always welcome back at D.A.!

On Friday December 19^th, 2025, we were delighted to welcome several dozen alumnae back to campus for our Young Alumnae Welcome Breakfast, followed by a post-Christmas Liturgy performance by our Glee Club and Senior Ensemble.  It marked the joyful beginning of Christmas break at Dominican Academy.  Thank you to all our alumnae who joined us and helped fill the day with warmth and reconnection.

On October 25, 2025, Dominican Academy welcomed back over 130 alumnae for the Class Reunion for the classes ending in “0” and “5”. The event started with a mass at D.A. presided over by Father James Ferus, S.J. Years ranging from 1960 to 2020 enjoyed time catching up with old friends, looking through their yearbooks, taking tours of the school, and talking with current D.A. students.  The class of 1975 had a wonderful 50^th reunion with classmates coming from across the country and even internationally and reconnecting in the library.  What an unforgettable day for all our D.A. sisters!

We enjoyed a gorgeous evening for this year’s Rooftop Reception on September 19, 2025! More than 70 alumnae joined us, representing class years from 1958 all the way to 2021. Guests browsed fun silent-auction items, tried their luck in a lively 50/50 raffle, reconnected with longtime friends, made new ones, and even got to meet Dominic the Tiger! We can’t wait to welcome you back to the roof next time!
