Programs for Prospective Students
Effective 04/20/2020: Due to coronavirus concerns and in accordance with state and local government recommendations, our June 2020 Summer Connection Camp has been canceled. Registrants can expect a full refund of any program fees in the weeks ahead. Summer Connection camp for rising 9th and prospective 8th graders. Make NYC your classroom at our summer program for prospective students! Each day, students will visit a cultural or historic landmark and participate in workshops, activities, and STEM labs taught by members of the D.A. faculty. Past visits have included the Morgan Library, Frick Collection, Museum of the City of New York, Central Park, and more! Classes run from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM daily. The program aims at expanding students' horizons through visits around New York City that are supplemented by in-class instruction aimed to hone skills necessary for success in high school. Two one-week sessions are available. Early bird pricing is in effect until April 20th--the cost is $600 for the week or $1,100 for both weeks (regular pricing is $650 for the week or $1,200 for both weeks). June 29th-July 3rd and August 31st-September 4th, daily from 9 AM - 12 PM: Get ready to ace the TACHS/HSPT exam with our intensive prep class, sponsored by P.M. Gillen and the test-prep experts at Elite Test Prep. We have partnered with this family-run business for over a decade on account of their consistent results in placing students in great high schools, colleges, and graduate schools. Your child will review material for the different sections of the exam, practice valuable test-taking techniques, identify areas for improvement, and make new friends! This program is open to both girls and boys. The cost is $300 for one week or $550 for two weeks. Click here to register.
Fall 2020: Fall Fridays provide 8th graders with the opportunity to see what life is like as a student at D.A. Students spend the day shadowing a 9th or 10th grade student leading up to the TACHS Exam. Sessions will take place on September 25th and October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th 2020. Availability is limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations must be placed at least one week in advance. Please contact Madeleine B. It is important to note that shadow days will only take place if and when deemed safe in accordance with health guidelines laid out by the Archdiocese of New York, Department of Education, and local and state officials. We will update this section as new information becomes available to us, and will share alternatives for prospective students to "get a feel" for D.A. during their application process.

October 17, 2020: Open House, 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The event is open to 7th and 8th graders. There is no need to R.S.V.P. Last tour at 1:30 PM!
October 28, 2020: Mini Open House for 7th and 8th graders from 5:00-7:00 PM. An RSVP is required for this event.
