The World as Our Classroom

At Dominican Academy, meaningful connections—across New York City and around the world—shape the perspective of our students, broaden their horizons, and deepen their sense of purpose. These opportunities and purposeful experiences are essential to bringing the D.A. journey to life, transforming not just what students do, but who they become.
Global Exchange Programs
Through immersive travel and school partnerships in France, Spain, and China, students experience life abroad, strengthen language skills, and return with a deeper understanding of global culture and community.
Regis Social Justice Seminar
In partnership with Regis High School, seniors engage in weekly discussions on Catholic Social Teaching, exploring real-world issues alongside peers and expert guest speakers.
UNIS-UN Conference
At this international student-led event at the U.N., D.A. delegates engage global topics with students from around the world—complementing their work in our Model U.N. Club.
The Ignatian Family Teach-In
Each fall, students travel to Washington, D.C., for the nation’s largest Catholic social justice gathering. Advocacy meetings with lawmakers add real-world weight to what they’ve learned in class.
Dominican High Schools Preaching Conference
Select students gather with peers from across the country to explore Dominican spirituality, prayer, and action. They return ready to share and lead within our own school community.
School in the City
Twice a year, each class steps out into New York City for curriculum-based experiences—from museum visits to neighborhood explorations—bringing classroom learning to life in the world around them.
Service @ D.A.
