Following the constituent surveys conducted earlier this year, the Search Committee updated the President Position Paper based upon the survey results and distributed the profile to our D.A. community as well as the national Dominican Sisters Conference. We received numerous resumes from promising applicants in response and a number of high caliber candidates were invited for two rounds of interviews thus far. The committee is now in a discernment phase which includes following through on reference checks. We plan to narrow the candidate pool to 1-2 highly qualified individuals and invite them to meet either in person and/or virtually with a broader group of our D.A. community. Our ultimate goal is to recommend one individual to the Board and to the Congregation of the Sisters of Peace by the end of the school year. Should this process fail to surface a viable candidate, the committee will retain a national search firm to assist us in continuing this important endeavor over the following school year.
In January 2021, Sr. Margaret Ormond, O.P., ’60 announced that, rather than leave her post as President upon the completion of her second term at the end of the 2020-2021 school year as originally intended, she will remain an additional school year, until June 2022. The Board of Trustees thanks Sister Margaret for her dedication and stewardship during her terms and for her leadership during the upheaval of the pandemic. We look forward to acknowledging her tireless service in the year ahead. In the interim, the Board is now focused on driving a rigorous search process to find the next President of the school.
The search process has already commenced with the appointment of an eight-person Search Committee, Chaired by Kristin Shea, '82, P'19.
As the search progresses, the Search Committee will periodically post updates to this website. For any questions regarding the search or candidate inquiries, you may contact Kristin Shea, '82, P'19 the Chair of the Search Committee.
