COVID-19 Response Plan
As we continue to navigate the uncharted waters of the current global health crisis, know that the safety and health of our D.A. community--families, students, staff, and faculty--remains our first priority.
The below COVID-19 Response Plan outlines D.A.’s COVID-19 response protocols which have been put in place after careful consideration of CDC, New York State Department of Health and local guidelines, as well as a comprehensive review of our building, floor-by-floor.
As of September 1, 2021:
D.A. plans to offer only one academic model next year: daily in-person learning. This year the overarching goal is to keep all students and staff safely in school, in person, full time. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Center for Disease Control have said in person learning must be a priority. The most effective strategy is a vaccinated community layered with other mitigation measures. In preparation for a safe and healthy return to school this fall please take the time to review the information below. Protocols are based on the most recent guidance from the Archdiocese of New York, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). In addition to vaccination, safety measures include:
Universal indoor masking
Physical distancing per CDC guidelines
Hand washing and respiratory etiquette
Monitoring community transmission
Students who have been vaccinated must send a copy of the vaccination record to Ms. Jessie Lawler, school nurse.
