OPEN HOUSE
The families of sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade girls are invited to visit Dominican Academy during Open House!

Saturday, October 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

44 East 68th Street between Park Avenue & Madison Avenue

-Take a student-led tour of our beautiful jewel of a school
-Listen to a faculty overview of the curriculum
-Learn about student life activities and the newly expanded sports program
-Participate in a parents-only discussion, led by our principal, Sister Joan Franks, O.P., '59
-Ask questions in a students-only panel, facilitated by our Associate Director of Admissions, Mrs. Jo Ann Fannon, ‘68
-Enjoy refreshments with the Parents' Association, and learn about the special events they sponsor

TACHS EXAM
Prospective students should register by October 8 (paper registration) or October 23 (online
and telephone registration) for the Diocesan TACHS exam ($49). Forms are available at any
archdiocesan elementary school or online at
http://www.tachsinfo.com/).

The test is offered on November 7 in Manhattan, the Bronx, Westchester and Staten Island,
and November 8 in Brooklyn and Queens.

The TACHS Entrance Exam code is 204. Students who wish to enroll at Dominican Academy
must list the school as first or second choice. Preference is given to first-choice applicants. If
you are required to list another school as first choice, please send a letter of explanation to the
attention of Sr. Joan Franks, O.P., Principal.

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
Following the exam, elementary schools will send school records of applicants to the high
schools to which students have applied.

Teacher, principal, and pastor recommendations are welcome, but not required. Recommendations
should be sent to the attention of Sr. Joan Franks, Principal, by December 20.

Families interested in scholarships must file with SSS (School and Student Service for Financial Aid) by December 20. Need based financial assistance is extremely limited, and parents must file the SSS to be considered. Register online at http://www.nais.org/financialaid/sss

ACCEPTANCES
All acceptance and rejections are postmarked on Thursday, January 15.
