D.A. Celebrates Mardi Gras E-mail

The French Club followed the motto of "Eat, drink, and be merry!" on Tuesday, February 5, in the Auditorium for Mardi Gras which, when translated, means Fat Tuesday.

Those who attended received Mardi Gras beads, colorful Mardi Gras recipe booklets and Mardi Gras "dictionaries" (glossaries) and enjoyed all kinds of refreshments from croissants to M&Ms to iced tea. Francophone music was played in the background, courtesy of CDs provided by Tasha Torchon. Students created or bought their own masks, with Abby Baltz winning the mask contest, due to her wonderfully artistic use of pink feathers.

As they say down in New Orleans at Carnival time, "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"--"Let the good times roll!"

FYI: Knowing how to speak French was NOT required in order to attend this party!
