We would like to thank all that contributed to the Annual Fund of 2006-2007. For the first time in DA History, the Annual Fund brought in over $200,000. We could not have done this without your help!
The Annual Fund attempts to bridge the gap between what we charge in tuition and what it actually costs to educate each young woman. Since we aim to keep tuition affordable, our annual gap continues to increase with each passing year--between maintaining the building and our commitment to enhancing our faculty and academic program.
For 2006-2007, tuition and fees per student totaled $8,794 with the actual per student expense being $11,641. This means that the average per student gap was $2,847. The Annual Fund is our only method of reducing that amount, and hopefully, with your help, this year we will bridge almost half. Our goal for the 2007-2008 school year is $215,000.
Currently, the Annual Fund supports the priorities of the school, including scholarships for academically talented and financial disadvantaged students, professional development and compensation for our talented faculty, the maintenance and enhancement of our 86-year-old townhouse, the integration of technology, and the continuation of advancing our academic programs and activities. All of these goals are essential to maintaining the challenging and enriching environment Dominican Academy provides its students.
